Katey Sagal plays "Jack's Mom"
Katey Sagal, known for her roles in “Married... with Children”, “8 Simple Rules”, and “Futurama”, plays Jack’s Mom in Jack and the Beanstalk. Katey brings her comedic abilities to a role that puts her right in the middle of a madcap troupe of misfits as she tries to save her son.
Born into a show-business family, Katey was introduced to acting at a young age, ap- pearing frequently on television. True to her performing roots, she also spent time pursu- ing a career in music as a songwriter and vocalist. Eventually, a role in the television show “Mary”, starring Mary Tyler Moore, would give her the attention she needed to land the part that would cement her image into pop-culture history, Peggy Bundy on “Married... With Children”.
After a lengthy run as television’s most recognizable Mom, Katey moved on to other projects, including doing the voice of Turanga Leela on Matt Groening’s popular prime- time cartoon “Futurama”. In 2002, she became everybody’s favorite television Mom again, this time on the program “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter”.
As recognizable and talented a performer and comedienne as can be found anywhere, Katey continues to reach audiences with her performances. Recently, she has appeared on such programs as “The Ghost Whisperer”, “The Winner”, “Boston Legal”, and “Lost” and is currently appearing on “Eli Stone” and starring in “Sons of Anarchy”.
