Daniel Roebuck plays "Mayor Litchfield"
Daniel Roebuck, the versatile and beloved film and television actor, plays Mayor Litchfield, the kooky magistrate of Jack’s hometown, in Jack and the Beanstalk. The veteran actor has logged dozens of appearances on screen utilizing a blend of likeability, affability and professionalism to create a myriad of unique characters.
Growing up, Daniel was a dedicated performer and studied to be a clown and a magician in addition to acting. His career truly launched in the early part of the 1980s and he spent much of the decade filling roles in small films. He began the 1990s as a guest star on tele- vision programs such as “Quantum Leap” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation”. These appearances would help lead him to a regular spot playing Andy Griffith's assistant, private investigator and righthand man, Cliff Lewis, on the television drama “Matlock”. At the same time, he was getting attention as corrupt cop Insp. Rick Bettina on television’s “Nash Bridges”. Soon after the completion of these roles, Daniel landed the role that he would come to be most associated with, playing real-life late-night talk show personality Jay Leno in the film “The Late Shift”.
Capitalizing on these successes, Daniel has become one of the busiest actors in the business. He has appeared in over 100 films and television programs since 1996, with recent appearances on “Boston Legal”, “The Ghost Whisperer”, “CSI”, “The Closer”, “Without a Trace”, and “Bones”, as well as a recurring role on “Lost”.
